New redfields are not US made BTW, only final assembly takes place here. The components are 100% made in China along with the rest of the current redfield line.
I think you are talking out of your ass. The lenses come from overseas (as do most lenses in any American optic) but all the metal is machined and finished in Leupold's Beaverton Or. plant. Additionally they are assembled in Leupold's Beaverton facility also. This applies only to the riflescopes and not to the bino's, rangefinders and spotting scopes.
No your mistaken, the components are all made in the same factory in China leupold has been sourcing a lot of their other components from. If you notice on their site. It says "Built in USA" not "Made in USA". Only final assembly takes place here, not a single component is made here for the redfields, and the binoculars and spotters are made and assembled in China. It's no secret that leupold has been outsourcing parts to China for the last few years. I'm sorry if I've offended a leupold nutswinger but try knowing what your talking about before posting.
